About Me
I have recently submitted my MSc by Research thesis titled ‘Quantifying the Biotic Enhancement of Mineral Weathering by Moss’. I am currently working on publications related to my thesis.
My thesis reported the results of in-vitro ‘microcosm’ experiments that were conducted at the John Innes Centre (JIC). Analysis of the resulting samples was conducted at the School of Environmental Sciences (ENV), UEA. My bench fees were funded by ELSA (Earth & Life Systems Alliance).
My supervisor’s are: Prof. Liam Dolan (formerly of JIC now at Dept. of Plant Sciences, Oxford), Prof. Tim Lenton and Dr Martin Johnson both of the Earth System Modelling Group within ENV.
My main research interests are measuring weathering enhancements due to biotic or abiotic factors (as well as method development to improve measurements) and how mineral weathering impacts upon global geochemical cycles which are coupled to the climate system.
