Analytical Instruments
I used three analytical instruments for my Masters project:-
ICP-AES
A Varian Vista-Pro ICP-AES (or Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometer!) was used to quantify the concentration of metal ions in aqueous solution: -

Nutrient Auto-Analyser
I used ENV‘s older Skalar SanPlus (ENV have recently acquired a SanPlusPlus. A far more automated auto-analyser!)
Photometer absorbance data for silicate was exported to a PC screen from which max absorptions had to be recorded manually as the software was not identifying peak heights correctly.
Due to a perpetually noisy baseline on screen, phosphate absorbance data was exported to a chart recorder. The peak heights were then manually measured using a ruler!
