Research Profile

My recent research has focused on the role of micro- and macro-algae in initiating particle formation and assessing the natural sources of cloud condensation nuclei at Cape Grim. This included the Precursors to Particles 2006 campaign at Cape Grim, which showed that the local kelp was unlikely to be the source of precursor gases for nucleation events. I manage two research programs at Cape Grim looking at the Precursors to Particles and the Role of Phytoplankton in Methyl Halide Production, with a particular focus on methyl iodide.
