Research Profile
Research interests:
My research interest is the marine carbon cycle particularly in the shelf and marginal seas (e.g. Barents Sea, North Sea, and Red Sea). I currently investigate processes such as the response of the oceanic carbon sink to the increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO-2), the rate of increase and horizontal transport of anthropogenic CO2 in the ocean, and the role of sea-ice and brine formation in the oceanic uptake of atmospheric CO2. Being an observationalist, I gather and analyze marine carbon data from scientific cruises and from a Voluntary Observing Ship (VOS) which collect data from the North Sea on weekly basis.
