Biogeochemical Feedbacks on Climate Change £27,466 to £32,796 per annum
We have 2 full time Senior Research Associate positions available immediately for a period of 2 years in the 5** School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia, to work on the impact of biogeochemical feedbacks on climate change. The positions are part of a new QUEST funded project ‘Quantifying Biogeochemical Feedbacks on Climate Change’. You will join the Earth system modelling group led by Professor Tim Lenton (https://researchpages.net/ESMG/) and also work with Dr Parvadha Suntharalingam and Professor Andy Watson.
Closing date for applications: 7th November.

Greenhouse Gas Feedbacks on Climate Change
The focus of this position (with Professor Tim Lenton) will be on CO2, CH4 and N2O feedbacks on longer timescales using intermediate-complexity models including GENIE and FAMOUS.
Post 2 UEA Ref: RA439
Trace Gas and Aerosol Feedbacks on Climate Change
The focus of this position (with Dr Parvadha Suntharalingam) will be on atmospheric chemistry, trace gas and aerosol feedbacks on shorter timescales using full-complexity models of the Hadley family.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in an area of natural sciences or applied mathematics and have scientific programming experience, ideally in numerical modelling of chemical or physical systems. Knowledge of Earth system science is desirable as is familiarity with some of the following: 3D numerical modelling of Earth system components, observational data analysis, experience with FORTRAN code and use of graphical packages. We seek candidates with good organisational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
