Sign up here.
There are four parts to AbGradNet…
Individual pages
Every member has a homepage, which only they can edit. This can have have any number of subpages which can be set as public, visible to group members only, or totally private. Individual pages can be found via People.
When you are logged in, the Actions panel lets you edit your pages. Page editing is by an online form and no html is required. You can also edit your details, add a publication to your profile, upload files and add a blog to your page, all from the the Actions panel.
Your personal page (“My Page”) is the same for all the groups you are in on Research Pages. For example, see:
https://researchpages.net/people/colin-goldblatt/
https://researchpages.net/esmg/people/colin-goldblatt/
https://researchpages.net/abgradnet/people/colin-goldblatt/
Your Research Pages homepage can be you main scientific homepage.
The AbGradNet wiki
All members can edit the wiki. Each wiki page can be set as either editable by AbGradNet members only (recommended) or any Research Pages user, and either readable by AbGradNet members only or public.
The bits that work by themselves
The publication list contains details of publications which members have added and associcated with the group AbGradNet. The News and Events pages contain what they say, which any member can add via the Actions box. All members can send messages to the whole group or your friends. A forum will be added soon…
See all the Research Pages Features or the FAQ for more information.
The AbGradNet homepages
Think individual pages, but for the whole group. These are editable by assigned people, and subpages can be either public or visible to the group only. Each separate subpage can be edited by up to three people. If you want these pages to cover something you are doing, or to link to part of the wiki, contact the assigned editors [Presently Colin Goldblatt].
What is Research Pages anyway?!
Research Pages is a new scientific networking site. Think of a social networking site, like facebook. Instead of poking people, playing scrabble and seeing who’s dating who, you create a personal (scientific) homepage page easily, add publications, events, news, blogs, host wikis and forums. If you don’t know what facebook is, well done.
Research Pages is being actively developed by scientists, for scientists. Its a beta version, so does contain the occasional bug. If you have problems, contact .
You can also set up groups for you lab or research group on Research Pages: contact .
