Adaptive Modelling Club

Adaptive Modelling Club

Wednesday 3rd June 2009 was a momentous day. It will be recorded in history as the first meeting of some of the finest scientific minds of their generation, gathered to discuss topics of fundamental importance to humanity and the cosmos. The Adaptive Modelling Club was born.

We loosely define “adaptive modelling” to include any form of model that includes some notion of parameter change over time, e.g., genetic evolution, acclimation, lifetime learning. The AMC meet fortnightly to discuss topics relating to:

*adaptive modelling in all its forms
*evolutionary, ecological and ecosystem theory
*the “bio” in “biogeochemistry”
*emergence and other complex phenomena
*individual-based models
*anything else we feel like

Typically each meeting will consider a relevant paper or other piece of work presented by a group member. All welcome.
