Tamsin Edwards

I’m a PDRA in the BRIDGE group at the University of Bristol, working in the QUEST Theme 2 project PalaeoQUMP.

I’m using HadCM3 to create perturbed physics ensemble simulations of the LGM (21ka BP) and Mid-Holocene (6ka BP), and using BIOME4 to create vegetation simulations from these. I will be evaluating the palaeoclimate simulations with a new Bayesian reconstruction of climate (headed by Jonty Rougier), and the palaeo-vegetation simulations with BIOME6000 data.

With these quantitative palaeodata-model comparisons, combined with those made by the QUMP project for the modern climate, I hope to further constrain QUMP‘s 2xCO2 ensemble in order to get an improved estimate of climate sensitivity.

My background is in particle physics (University of Manchester and the DZero experiment at Fermilab).
