Matthew Cotton

I am currently a Research Associate at the University of Manchester in the Manchester Architecture Research Centre. I work on the Supergen FlexNet project, researching deliberative engagement with energy network technologies.

I have a BA in International Studies with Political Science and an MSc in Social Research Methods, and have recently submitted a PhD at the University of East Anglia’s school of environmental sciences. My PhD research has been on the development of deliberative approaches to the consideration of ethics in participatory technology assessment, specifically looking at the issue of long-term radioactive waste management policy in the UK.
