QUEST-DESIRE
Dynamics of the Earth System and the Ice-Core Record

Summary
DESIRE is a project funded jointly by the NERC QUEST programme and by the French INSU. It is closely linked to the NERC Theme 2 projects, and runs for 3 years from mid-2007.
DESIRE aims to understand the evolution of CO2 and CH4 over the 800,000 year period revealed by the ice core record. Workpackages are grouped into three strands on: methane and atmospheric chemistry; CO2 and the carbon cycle; understanding the nature and diversity of glacial-interglacial cycles in climate, CO2 and CH4.
Funded PIs and Co-Is are at 6 UK universities and institutes, and at 2 French institutes. A number of other UK and French universities are also involved as partners in the project.
Please explore these pages: within each strand is a page for each work package on which we hope to have a summary of the research, and exciting updates and news, along with relevant publications.
