This is
what (I think) we agreed on 10/11/06, which could eventually go onto a
wiki
Versions/grids:
Use genified version throughout.
Try to restrict grids to two types:
(1) 36x36x16: most experiments?, certainly early
experiments
(2) 64x64x16: for consistency with Agatha and to avoid
interpolation in coupled runs
Topography
Use "realistic" topography as default, but consider idealised
(rectilinear?) experiments for the sake of reducing drag and diapycnal
leakage (other physics?)
Proxy incorporation
Defer strategy until 28/11/06 "Isotopes in QUEST" meeting. Points
raised:
(1) Pa/Th would provide useful comparison with Bern3D
but no immediate new results.
(2) Cd/Ca could provide immediate results, and (we
think) has relatively simple equations
(3) The equations are (we think) a small proportion of
the proxy incorporation work, so it may be best to incorporate them
simultaneously
Literature
Proxy reading high priority. Publications to read include:
Proxies: Broecker 2002, Boyle, Ridgwell, Siddall x2,
Cooke & Rohling manual
Recommended by Gideon: Zeebe & Wolf Gladrow
2001, articles in Wefer et al. 2004, Winguth et al 1999, Rutberg 2006,
Heinze 2001
Dynamics: Mueller x2
Clusters/hardware
Get set up on Earths and QUEST clusters ASAP for future ensemble
runs.
