About PhD
Long Term Climate Change Mitigation
I have recently completed a paper titled, Climate Change Mitigation: Trade-off between delay and strength of action required. This provides a new conceptual model for framing the emission profiles permissible to reach designated atmospheric stabilisation levels, and helps to illustrate the trade off between delay and strength of mitigation necessary.
Critical Review of Geoengineering
I am currently working on a critical review of the present literature on Geoengineering. This review will provide a framework to encapsulate the various scales of action and impact of different geoengineering proposals. As well as a critical look at the modelling work that has taken place to date, thus identifying potential avenues of future work.
Future work
Following elements of my PhD will focus on specific mitigation options, including evaluating macroengineering suggestions such as Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS)
